Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? You're in the right place.

What is a Physician Buying Group (PBG)?

A PBG is a vehicle for medical practices to purchase items from vendors/manufacturers at the best price possible. Medical practices will band together by joining a PBG (like us), which will then be able to negotiate “group rates,” “volume discounts,” and etc. to provide their members with substantial savings. However, PBG membership does require loyalty to the contracted manufacturers. Medical practices agreeing to order exclusively from a PBG’s manufacturers is what affords them the ability to negotiate for optimal pricing.

How can joining a Physician’s Buying Group (PBG) benefit my practice?

Joining a PBG will be a huge financial benefit to your practices because the cost burden you face in purchasing vaccines and supplies will be drastically decreased. You will see savings on pediatric, adolescent and adult vaccines that your practice needs to maintain your high standard of care.

Which vaccines are available through National Purchasing Group (NPG)?

National Purchasing Group has national contracts with Sanofi Pasteur, Merck, and Pfizer, the leading vaccine manufacturers in the United States. Practices that join NPG will receive discounted rates on many of the vaccines made by these three companies. The list includes all of the following, and more!

  • Diphtheria

  • Hepatitis A & B

  • Influenza

  • Measles

  • Meningitis

  • Mumps

  • Polio

  • Rabies

  • Rubella

  • Tetanus

  • Trumenba

  • And many more!

How do I purchase the vaccines I need?

  1. You purchase directly from the manufacturer.

  2. Your purchases are shipped directly from the manufacturer to your practice.

  3. The manufacturers invoice your practice directly.

The only difference is that your membership with National Purchasing Group will earn you lower prices! Purchases can even be made online from both the manufacturers or through your vaccine representative. Online purchases may be eligible for additional manufacturer savings of up to 1% per order. In addition, you may receive additional savings of 2% per order for prompt payment.

What does it cost to join the National Purchasing Group (NPG) purchasing program?

IT’S FREE!

There is no cost to your practice to join the National Purchasing Group vaccine program. Our business model works on administrative fees from our suppliers. Suppliers work with us because we can bring them business. Individual medical practices work with us because we can save them money. Everybody wins!
